Contemporary Dance
Contemporary dance is made up of several dance genres including ballet, modern, jazz and lyrical. It is a very expressive form of dance that strives to connect the mind and the body through fluid dance movements.
Contemporary dance technique focuses on strength, stamina, flexibility and coordination.
There are many different styles within contemporary that we take influences from and this style allows us to explore all sorts of movement such as falling with momentum and grounded or floor-based choreography.
This type of dance style can be abstract but quite often it is about telling a story through movement and dance. It is a very versatile and expressive form of dance and is often done in bare feet. It can be performed to many different styles of music. All Classes take place at Bowmansgreen School in London Colney, St Albans, Hertfordshire.
