We are so excited to announce that the Excel Performing Arts students have been asked to perform at the ‘St Albans Christmas Lights Switch On’ show which takes place on Sunday 19th November in St Albans town centre. Over fifty Excel students will be performing three spectacular Christmas themed dances, all in full costume on the main stage in St Peters Street in St Albans town and we can’t wait! They are scheduled to perform at 1.15pm.
The Excel students have also been asked to perform at the ‘London Colney Christmas lights switch on’ which is taking place on Sunday 3rd December.
In other news, best of luck to the Excel students who are taking an Ofqual regulated IDTA grade exam in ballet and tap this coming weekend on Sunday 12th November. This is where an examiner from the IDTA visits our school and students take their exams in small groups. Our grade three and grade five ballet classes are all taking an exam as well as the grade two and four tap students. They have all worked so hard and we hope that they can go into their exams with lots of confidence. By offering optional IDTA exams of this sort it helps structure the learning process in a progressive way, gives students an aim and acknowledges achievement.
Lastly, huge congratulations to three Excel students who auditioned for local pantomimes and got in. Thirteen year old Pippa will be dancing in ‘Peter Pan’ at the Alban Arena, fourteen year old Ruby will be dancing in ‘Beauty and the Beast’ at the Radlett Centre and sixteen year old Claramae will be dancing in ‘Cinderella’ at the Watford Palace Theatre. If you go and see any of these pantomimes please give our students a special cheer.
