As we come to the end of another incredible year at Excel Performing Arts, we’ve been reflecting on just how much our students and teachers have achieved together. It has been a year filled with growth, creativity, and unforgettable moments—and we couldn’t be prouder.
💫 Exam Success
We’re thrilled to celebrate a 100% pass rate in our IDTA ballet and tap exams this past November, with many students achieving distinctions. One of our talented ballet students even received from the examiner a nomination for a Ballet Theatre Award. A huge honour and testament to everyone’s hard work and dedication.
🌟 Pantomime Stars
Christmas was a magical time, with many of our students successfully auditioning for local professional pantomimes. Their performances lit up the festive season, showcasing their talent on a professional stage and gaining valuable experience along the way.
🎉 Community Performances
Our dancers also brought joy to the local community, performing at a variety of events throughout the year including:
• St Albans Christmas Lights
• London Colney Lights
• Dancemania at the Alban Arena
• Local summer fairs and celebrations
It’s always a pleasure to see our students shine and excel at something they love..
🌟 Annual Show at the Sandpit Theatre
One of the highlights of the year was undoubtedly our annual showcase at the Sandpit Theatre in May. Every single Excel student took to the stage, and the result was a truly spectacular show filled with energy, emotion, and amazing choreography. We couldn’t be prouder of how each dancer shone under the lights.
👏 Inspiring Guest Teachers
This term, our Performance students were lucky to learn from some brilliant guest teachers.
We welcomed back professional dancer and choreographer Reiss Hinds, whose enthusiasm and energy always light up the studio. Our students absolutely adore his sessions.
We were also honoured to have former Excel student Amy Narramore return to teach two inspiring classes. Amy has just graduated from Urdang and is now entering the world as a professional dancer. Seeing someone who once stood where they stand now was hugely motivating for our students.
💖 Farewell to Our Graduates
As we approach the end of term, we’re also saying a heartfelt goodbye to some of our 18-year-old students, many of whom have been part of the Excel family for years. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be featuring each of them on our social media, where they’ll share their favourite memories and what comes next in their journey.
It’s always emotional to say goodbye, but we know they’ll go on to do amazing things.
