This last term has been a whirlwind of Christmas performances and dance exams for us at Excel Performing Arts. Lots of hard work and lots of fun!
The Excel Performance classes have had a busy month. They first performed for the crowds at the ‘St Albans Christmas Lights Switch On’ show on November 19th. This is one of our favourite events of the year as it kick starts the run up to Christmas. They then performed at the Christmas Fair at Bowmansgreen School which was fantastic. But unfortunately this year our performance at the ‘London Colney Christmas Lights Switch On’ was rained off.
On Sunday 12th November an IDTA examiner visited Excel and the grade three and five ballet students and grade two and four tap students took their graded exams. We are proud to let you know that all of these students passed with some wonderful marks which reflects their hard work and commitment.
It was lovely to be able to celebrate these student’s achievements properly by holding an exam presentation on 9th December. The exam students performed excerpts from their exams in front of an audience of family and friends before being presented with their certificates and trophies. Some of the younger ballet and tap students also took an Excel medal and performed at the presentation too. It was a lovely afternoon to share with the student’s families.
The Sandpit Theatre in St Albans is booked for Saturday 18th May and Sunday 19th May 2024 for our annual Excel show. Every Excel student is offered the opportunity to be involved and it is definitely the highlight of the Excel calendar.
After asking for help on our social media platforms in deciding a show name, that of course had ‘Excel’ in it, we were inundated with suggestions. And we now have a name!!
We will reveal the 2024 show name in the new year on our social media. So keep your eyes peeled on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Past show names have been The Excel Factor, Strictly Excel, That’s Exceltainment, Excelerate, etc. You’ll have to wait until the new year to find out what the 2024 show name is but we think you are going to LOVE it!
