This week’s #throwbackthursday is all about the amazing drama and singing students at Excel Performing Arts.

Whenever we start working on a drama and singing number in an Excel show we get very excited because we know how much fun we are about to have. There are always lots of giggles in rehearsals as the students work on their characters and we have the best time ever.

So, the votes are in and we are thrilled that ‘The Addams Family’ from the 2019 show ‘Exceltastic’ has been chosen for this week’s ‘Excel Show Favourites’. We have chosen the opening song ‘When you’re an Addams’ to be the excerpt as it sets the scene perfectly for this brilliant comedy piece.

The students characterisations were absolutely brilliant in this piece and along with the costumes, make up and special effects, this was a huge hit with audiences.

Whilst we have had to operate with restrictions we have had to sadly suspend our ‘in person’ drama classes and have missed the fun we have in these classes. We absolutely cannot wait to restart the classes when restrictions and bubbles are lifted. We are currently offering private online one to one singing lessons with Excel’s Steven and students have worked on various voice strengthening exercises and techniques as well as building a repertoire of songs that they can sing with confidence. We are amazed at how much these students have improved and benefitted from these one to one singing lessons.

So, until we can restart the drama and singing classes ‘in person’ let’s sit back and enjoy this brilliant excerpt from “The Addams Family.’
