What a great start to the new year we have had. A special welcome to all of our new students that have joined us this term. We hope you are having lots of fun as you settle into your new classes.

The annual Excel show in May ‘EXCELMAZING’ is definitely causing a stir of excitement amongst the students and we all cannot wait! The show will involve every class at Excel and will be a whirlwind of Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Street, Hip Hop, Commercial, Drama and Singing.

The show will take place at the Sandpit Theatre in St Albans on Saturday 20th May and Sunday 21st May 2023 and will be Excel’s eleventh show.

It is a very special experience performing on a stage in front of an audience of family and friends. Memories are made that last a lifetime as well as lots of friendships. There is a lot of hard work going on in classes at the moment as we work on show choreography and it is fair to say we all very EXCITED!

Excel classes finish for the half term break after classes on Saturday 11th February. Classes restart on Monday 20th February and run to Saturday 1st April (6 weeks).

Over half term we will be meeting up with Excel’s wonderful seamstress and deciding on costumes. This is the fun part and usually once students know what the theme of their show piece is, the next question is always “What is the costume?”

There will be lots of hard work to do over half term as we still have music to edit and drama scripts to prepare. We will also start to think about the special effects for each piece and start to put together the backstage plans. It is a huge event to plan for but so rewarding seeing it all come together. It is going to be Excelmazing!
