Performance Classes

Our Performance Class students are proud representatives of Excel Performing Arts at a range of local events and showcases. This class is for dedicated dancers who are looking for an extra challenge and love to perform.

Entry Criteria:
To be eligible, students must already be enrolled in at least two other classes at Excel, one of which must be jazz. They should also demonstrate enthusiasm, commitment, strong teamwork skills, and the ability to pick up choreography quickly.

What to Expect:
Performance students work together as a close-knit team to learn complex, high-energy choreography, typically in a jazz style although other styles are also explored. Over time, they build a repertoire of polished routines, specially choreographed for public performances.

Performance Opportunities:
Students in this class have performed at events such as:
• St Albans Christmas Lights Switch-On
• Larks in the Park
• Dancemania at the Alban Arena\

They also feature in two exclusive numbers during our annual theatre showcase.

How to Join:
Interested students are encouraged to put themselves forward. Places typically become available in January and September, when new choreography projects begin.

We currently offer three age-based Performance Classes:
• 8–11 years (Younger Group)
• 12–15 years (Middle Group)
• 16–18 years (Older Group)
