Wow! What an AMAZING start to the autumn term. We excitedly returned to classes on Monday 4th September after our summer break and it has been non stop fun since then! It has been fantastic to see everyone again as well as welcoming lots of new students to Excel Performing Arts who have joined us this term.

So what is happening at Excel this term? Firstly, we celebrated our fourteenth birthday. Exactly fourteen years ago this month we nervously waited for our first students to arrive and the rest as they say is history. What a fantastic journey it has been meeting so many wonderful children and their families along the way. Lots of special memories have been made over the years. Here’s to the next fourteen years!

In other news, we would like to introduce Katie Franklin who has joined our teaching team. Katie has set up some very exciting NEW Contemporary dance classes at Excel for ages 7-10 years and 11-17 years. These classes connect the mind and body and are a wonderful fusion of lots of different styles including lyrical, ballet, modern and jazz.

Katie is also teaching another new Hip Hop Commercial Jazz class for 18-25 year olds and one of the best things about this new class is seeing lots of AMAZING former Excel students dancing together again.

The Performance classes have started rehearsing their Christmas repertoire which they will be performing during November and December. Dates to be announced soon so watch this space.

And finally we have booked an exam session with the IDTA in November for some of the ballet and tap classes to take their grade exams in November.

So lots going on as well as brand new jazz routines, hip hop street dance combinations and all the usual fun in the other classes.
