So we are very excited to let you know for the first time ever….. it’s a draw between the gorgeous ’Tales of Beatrix Potter’ piece from the 2018 show ‘Excelmania’ and the brilliant fun ‘Monster Mash’ piece from Exceltastic in 2019.

’Tales of Beatrix Potter’ was a special piece I choreographed for the grade 3 ballet class. The reason it was so special was because I remembered that my dance teacher when I was a child choreographed a similar ‘Beatrix Potter’ piece. I was given the part of Peter rabbit and it stuck in my mind as one of the best childhood memories I have. I obviously couldn’t remember any of the choreography from my childhood or even the music my dance teacher used, but it was such a wonderful happy memory of mine that I wanted to recreate it in some way with my ballet students. Here is 9 year old me as Peter Rabbit having the very important job of holding the ‘Animals picnic’ sign.

‘Monster Mash’ was such a fun piece from the 2019 show that we aren’t surprised it also got lots of votes too. It was performed by the younger performance students and the spooky special affects, Sandpit theatre lighting, face make up and costumes made this piece a firm favourite in the Excel history books.
